Why not attend the Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous?

The 6th Annual Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous is scheduled for March 4-6, 2016 at Mountain Crest High School, 255 South 800 East, Hyrum, Utah  84319.

This three day CV Cowboy Rendezvous is fun for the whole family. Join in celebrating the culture of the west and our agricultural heritage. You will enjoy western musicians, cowboy poets, and artisans. The mission of the Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous is “to provide an atmosphere of high quality cultural entertainment and educational activities to enrich individuals, families & schools.”

Admission is free and most activities are included. You will find featured artwork by Kelly D Donovan, an award winning artist from Corinne, Utah. Enjoy regional poets and performers on the Elkhart and Chuckwagon Stages and an “Open Mic” on the Old Ephraim Stage. Shop the vendors at the Trading Post where Western craftsmen and artisans will display and sell their works while you let kids have fun at the Kids Corral sponsored by the Hyrum Saddle Club. This year the Kids Corral with have feature gold-panning, educational activities and games presented by Mountain Crest FFA, roping demonstrations/dummies, American West Heritage Center activities, leave no trace and trail etiquette, braiding demonstrations and a kid’s poetry contest  & “Patriotic Poetry Contest”.

On Friday night the Chuckwagon will be open for dinner between 5-8pm and join the Cowboy Opry (tickets required) with Gary Allegretto; Ernie Sites; Thatch Elmer & Tumbleweeds. It is reserved seating and adults tickets are $10 and $1 for children.

Saturday morning the Trading Post and Kids Corral area will be open all day and the Chuckwagon with be open for lunch and dinner from 11:30-7pm.

Entertainment options on Saturday feature adult and kids poetry contests, a guitar workshop with Ernie Sites ($20 purchase on the website or at the door), more regional poets and performers, another open mic and the “Learn to play cowboy Harmonica Instantly Workshop with Gary Allegretto ($20 purchase on the website or at the door). There will be a meet and greet lite buffet with Billy Dean and the Billy Dean concert begins at 2pm with Eli Barsi and Doris Daley opening the show. Tickets are $50 for premium seating and include the meet and greet with Billy Dean, VIP seating is $25, remaining seating is $15 for adults and $10 for children 3 and up.

Saturday afternoon brings more free events with the songwriter’s circle, announcing the poetry contest winners and the pioneer posts round robin.

Saturday night join Michael Martin Murphy at the Cowboy Family Dance. You will learn dance steps like the fox- trot, two-step and waltz. Adults are $15, and kids/students are $10. Join in the swing dance contest. The top three dance couple will receive $450 in Cal Ranch gift cards!

Sunday morning at 9am will be a free non-denominational ‘Cowboy Church’ at the American West Heritage Center livery Stables, 4025 S Highway 89-91 in Wellsville. Dress warm and enjoy a great end to the festivities. It is an enjoyable, uplifting experience you won’t soon forget. Marion Manwill, Cowboy Poet’s of Utah Chaplin will conduct the non-denominational meeting.
